Let your child learn about pet guardianship while having fun! The Kentucky Humane Society (KHS) hosts its 21 st year of summer camp with some new twists.
The ever-popular ANIMAL ADVENTURE CAMP, offered weekly June through August, will include new activities for children ages 6 to 12. With a new location, one-day field trip and more activities, CAREER DISCOVERY CAMP should be educational and entertaining for young people 11 to 15 years of age.
KHS also introduces a new camp specifically for dog lovers – CANINE COMPANION CAMP! Children ages 6 to 12 can bring their four-legged friend with them to camp in June.

ANIMAL ADVENTURE CAMP allows campers to have fun while expanding
their animal care knowledge by:
- Learning how to care for dogs and cats by feeding, bathing and
playing with adoptable animals
- Participating in educational, animal-related games and activities
- Learning how to safely handle companion animals
- Meeting new friends, two-legged and four-legged!
- Learning about responsible pet guardianship
What's more, Animal Adventure Campers will enhance their learning through arts and crafts, guest speakers, educational videos and skits. Children will build a sense of kindness, respect and responsibility for animals and life!
Both one-day and week-long camps are available. Children are grouped according to age. Extended care and lunch options also are available (see registration form).

CANINE COMPANION CAMP, for children 6 to 12, is designed to strengthen the bond between campers and their four-legged friend. Campers will learn about pet care through hands-on experience with their dog:

- Training
- Grooming
- Games and more!
With limited availability, this new camp will book up quickly!

*$45 for each additional day

*During the weeklong camps, campers bring their dogs to camp for three of the five days. Campers bring their dogs each day for the one-day camps.
Children are grouped according to age. Extended care and lunch options also are available (see registration form).
CAREER DISCOVERY CAMP is designed for young people, ages 11-15, interested in pursuing a career with dogs, cats or horses. Participants will learn about a number of occupations involving companion animals from the professionals themselves!
Career Discover Camp is a hands-on experience intended to educate young people in the following areas:
- Veterinary Medicine

- Animal Behavior
- Horse Training & Care*
- Animal Grooming
- Animal Rescue & More!
One-day field trip that includes a visit to Greenhill Theraphy, which helps special needs children through horse theraphy!
Campers also have the option to foster a pet at home during the weeklong camp.
