The Kentucky Humane Society with Louisville Metro Animal Services will host the inaugural LOU ADOPTS! mega adoption event to find loving homes for more than 100 adoptable local dogs and puppies.

KHS and LMAS will be joined at LOU ADOPTS! by Golden Retriever Rescue and Adoption of Needy Dogs or GRRAND, Animal Care Society, Hardin County Animal Shelter, Anderson County Care and Control and Jeffersonville Animal Shelter to offer the public a large variety of friendly, loving local dogs and puppies who are available for adoption on-site.

Adoption fees will vary by shelter. Jefferson County adopters will be required to pay a $10.50 licensing fee for each adoption. All the dogs and puppies will be spayed/neutered, micro-chipped and up-to-date on vaccinations.ย Adopters are encouraged to bring their resident dogs so they can meet any potential dog siblings and to bring their dogs’ vaccine records.

All ages welcome!

Every new pet family deserves a housewarming present, so Isaacs & Isaacs will provide each adopter with a unique branded โ€œHammerโ€ gift that will only be available at this event. Attendees will also have an opportunity to have their photo taken with Darryl Isaacs, aka The Hammer himself.

Like shelters across the country, local shelters are experiencing an increase in the number of animals being surrendered. Owner surrenders and other intakes have skyrocketed nationwide by 9.5 percent in the past year, while adoptions are down. The goal of LOU ADOPTS! is to help find homes for as many dogs and puppies as possible to free up space in our local shelters so that they can continue to help animals in need.
