The last day of adoptions at East Campus is July 26, 2026. Our Sam Swope Pet Treatment and Lifesaving Center remains open for adoptions until we transition to our new campus off Preston Highway in 2027. We hope you’ll visit us at 241 Steedly Drive to find your next furry family member!
The Kentucky Humane Society recently launched the ALL IN Campaign to build a new Animal & Community Campus that will serve even more pets and the people who love them. This campus will have 30% more animal housing, a public veterinary clinic and free pet counseling and resources for thousands of people in need. We are committed to this transformational campus which is slated to open in 2027 off Preston Highway near the I-264/I-65 interchange.

Admissions: Admissions for incoming animals is by appointment Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. KHS can only accept animals as space allows; we cannot guarantee we can take your animal. Admissions only occur at the Sam Swope Pet TLC on Steedly Drive, not our adoption sites.
